Beetlejuice
Summary
Emmy and Golden Globe-nominee Michael Keaton ("Jackie Brown," "Batman") brings the title character of Beetlejuice -- the "Ghost With the Most" -- to life, so to speak, with the help of Academy Award-winning make-up design, in this comic-fantasy and box-office sensation. Silly, zany and flagrantly weird, Beetlejuice is the netherworld's "freelance bio-exorcist" who is sought out by a recently deceased Connecticut couple -- Academy Award and Golden Globe-winner Geena Davis (TV's "Commander in Chief," "Thelma & Louise") and Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe-nominee Alec Baldwin ("The Departed," TV's "30 Rock") -- to help haunt their beloved house and scare away its new, annoying owners. Academy Award-nominee and Golden Globe-winner Winona Ryder ("Mr. Deeds," "Autumn in New York") is featured in her star-making role as the new yuppie homeowners' delightfully morose daughter who befriends the ghosts. The Village Voice calls this film "hilarious... Keaton's Beetlejuice is one of the biggest, baddest wolves a ghost movie has ever unleashed -- a polter-gas." The Los Angeles Times calls it "an uproarious ghost comedy... an irresistible treat." And Newsweek deems this movie "wonderfully wacko, and Michael Keaton is the juice that makes it go!" From Academy Award-nominated director Tim Burton ("Tim Burton's Corpse Bride," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") and featuring music by Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominee and Emmy-winner Danny Elfman ("Tim Burton's Corpse Bride," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ") and Harry Belafonte ("Day-O [Banana Boat Song]").
