The Fugitive

Summary

Dr. Richard Kimble is a successful and highly-respected Chicago surgeon, until he comes home one night to find his loving wife brutally murdered by a mysterious one-armed man. With no sign of a break-in, the police quickly settle on Kimble as their only suspect. Although the evidence against him is circumstantial, he is found guilty and sentenced to die by lethal injection. When a fellow inmate's escape attempt on the way to prison goes explosively awry, Kimball finds himself free -- and a fugitive from justice. With a team of US marshals dogging his every move, Kimble must avoid capture while trying to uncover the evidence that will clear his name and bring his wife's real killer to justice. Starring Golden Globe-honoree Harrison Ford (the "Indiana Jones" franchise, "Patriot Games") as Dr. Kimble, and Academy Award-winner (for his work in this movie) Tommy Lee Jones ("No Country for Old Men," the "Men in Black" movies) as Sam Gerard, the lead marshal on Kimble's trail. Also starring Golden Globe-winner Julianne Moore ("Children of Men," "Magnolia"), Emmy Award-winner Joe Pantoliano ("The Matrix," TV's "The Sopranos"), Golden Globe-winner Sela Ward ("The Guardian," TV's "Once and Again") and Jeroen Krabbe ("Dangerous Beauty," "Immortal Beloved"). Based on the classic '60s TV series, and directed by Golden Globe-nominee (for his work on this movie) Andrew Davis ("A Perfect Murder," "Under Siege"), "The Fugitive" was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and was recently selected by the prestigious American Film Institute as one of the 400 greatest American films of all time.
